The Rio Olympics will take place in Brazil. The games will officially begin on the 5th August, the legendary Maracanã Stadium will play hosts to the opening ceremony. Although the football tournament will start two days before the tournament. The football tournament will be played in five co-host cities including Rio. the competition will take place from 3rd August 2016 to 20th August 2016.
16 teams will be taking part in the competition. Each team will have a squad consisting of 16 players in which a maximum of three can be over 23 years of age and the rest must be under the age of 23. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout phase leading to the semi-final then the final (Gold medal match).
8 different venues will host matches across Brazil in five cities while the final will be taking place in São Paulo on 20th August 2016.
