Arjen Robben could be set to make a shock return to the Premier League, should Louis Van Gaal be confirmed as the new Man United manager. Reports claim that the Dutchman would try to make Robben his first signing as boss.
The two already work with each other at international level for Holland, as Van Gaal is the current coach of the side. A new deal was also signed at Bayern Munich by Robben, which would keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2017. Despite this, United will still make a £25m bid to tempt FC Hollywood, if Van Gaal becomes manager.
Bayern may be willing to part ways with the 30-year old so that they can strengthen their side with the funds, after a below-par Champions League for the German outfit. Van Gaal originally signed Robben for Bayern back in 2009 and he would be willing to do the same if he joined the Red Devils.
It is believed he will be handed a £200m war chest if he is handed the job by Man United and Robben is the first person he’ll be looking to spend some of the money on.
