The former player is still very close with the Gunners

Robert Pires has claimed he would like to become Arsenal’s sporting director.

The Frenchman shone for Arsenal during his playing days at the club and was one of their best players. He was a part of the Gunner’s Invincibles season in 2003/04 and he remains very close with the club now that he has hung up his boots.

He is a club ambassador and despite being 43, he still continues to train with his former side too.

Countless honours

Pires also played for Metz, Marseille and Villareal in his career and won countless honours for both these clubs and the French national team too.

However, it’s clear that he still has a deep connection with Arsenal the most and he has admitted that he hopes to eventually become a Sporting Director at the Emirates Stadium.

He claimed to the Hindustan Times: “Yes, it is my objective.

I don’t know what will happen in the future, but I need to talk about it with the owners and Arsene Wenger.”
