Everton manager Roberto Martinez has told fans that they will be signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku this Summer.

The Belgium international spent last season on loan in Merseyside, and after another successful campaign in the Premier League, The Toffees are keen to land him on a permanent basis, but according to reports, they will face serious competition.

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are very keen and so are Spanish giants Real Madrid, who also want to sign Radamel Falcao from AS Monaco, but Martinez has told Everton fans that they will be signing the 21-year-old.

When questioned about Lukaku, Martinez responded with: ‘of course we’ll get him.’

Lukaku will return to Chelsea on Wednesday and will hold talks with Jose Mourinho regarding his own future.

Not only has Martinez dropped a massive hint about signing Lukaku, the club’s Head of Recruitment, Ian Atkins, has also admitted that the striker wants a return to Goodison Park.

‘Romelu had a terrific season for Everton last year and I know everyone at the football club wants to see him back,’ Atkins told talkSPORT.

‘Hopefully things can be sorted out, I think he’s quite settled in his mind that he wants to come to Everton, and hopefully he’ll be pulling on our blue shirt again next term.

‘Our loan signings all did brilliant for us last season. Gareth Barry has signed permanently now which is fantastic, and hopefully Lukaku will as well.’
