Manchester United are set to sell Robin Van Persie in the hope they can persuade Edinson Cavani to join them over the Summer.
The Red Devils look set to return to Champions League football after one season away, and Louis Van Gaal is ready to make several changes in the squad yet again following his overhaul last year.
One player that looks like he could be on his way out of Old Trafford is Van Persie. Despite his Dutch connections with Van Gaal, due to the striker’s age and his fitness issues, the club could be looking to sell him this year in order to raise some cash from the sale.
If Van Persie does leave, Van Gaal wants to bring Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain after the Uruguayan continues to struggle in Paris.
Cavani is unhappy with his position under Laurent Blanc and was even seen having a row with him on the pitch after he was substituted at the weekend.
It’s believed the striker would cost United around £40million.
