Brendan Rodgers has said that he is in need of a quality striker up front after Celtic’s loss against Hibernian.

The Hoops faced a disappointing defeat at the hands of the Hibs in the Scottish Premiership, denying them a chance to go back to the top of the league table.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he is in need to get new forwards to lead the line for his side ahead of the business end of the Scottish Premiership. The Hoops missed a chance to get back to the top of the table as they were defeated by Hibernian by 2-0 in the absence of a recognised striker after Leigh Griffiths dropped out of the side with personal issues.

With only a young Odsonne Edouard leading the line for the Hoops, Rodgers said that there is dire need to get some new faces in the side to participate in the attack. He said, “We need to look in the January window. When we had Leigh and Odsonne we were definitely in the market for another one, because of the number of games we play. I think it is unfair on Odsonne, he had to play in so many games.

He added, “As a 20-year-old I would have loved to have taken him out but, because of necessity, he has had to play. It is unfortunate for him he hasn’t had the support around him to absorb that but it is certainly something we need to look at in January.”

With the Hoops having advanced into the round of 32 of the Europa League, a new striker is the need of the hour for Rodgers for sure.
