Rodgers praises Dalglish for purchasing Henderson

After a difficult start to his Liverpool career, Jordan Henderson has become one of Liverpool’s most consistent performers and a regular in the team.

Henderson was almost sold to Fulham when Brendan Rodgers took over the club in a deal that would have meant Clint Dempsey would join Liverpool. However Henderson was given the choice on whether he wanted to go or fight for his place and he chose the latter. He has now forced his way into the team and is a consistent performer and is still only twenty three.

“It was a great buy by Kenny,” Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo. “Jordan didn’t set the fee, for which he’s taken a lot of criticism, but he’s 23, he’s six foot one, he can run all day and technically he’s very strong.

“Tactically, his understanding of when to press and when to stay is getting better all the time.

“It’s all down to him. Nobody else.”

With Henderson pushing for a place in the England squad for the World Cup the sky is the limit for this young and talented footballer.
