Rodgers takes blame for Liverpool failings

Brendan Rodgers has told the press that any blame for Liverpool’s shortcomings this season should lie on his shoulders.

The Reds have made little impact on the Premier League this season, with the side currently lying in 11th pace with only four win from 11 matches. There has been much pressure on last season’s runners-up with the side spending £120 million on new players this summer and so a lot of expectation has been placed upon the side to perform.

But, manager Rodgers has asked for all blame to be directed towards him rather than his players.

The Northern Irishman said, “If there is any spotlight, any blame, then it comes onto me.

“I pick the team, I put the players in. So if there’s no results, rightly it comes onto the manager.”

Liverpool prepare for their weekend’s game against Crystal Palace.
