Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan is set for a move to the Chinese Super League according to reports in Italy.

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan is set for a big money move to the Chinese Super League according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Guangzhou Evergrande are looking to sign the talented Belgian for ÂŁ44.5m. The Roma star has been a long-term target for Chelsea’s Antonio Conte and Manchester United. Conte was close to signing him when he first arrived at Chelsea as manager but Nainggolan was set on staying at Roma as he loved the lifestyle.

But now, the 29-year-old has been convinced to link up with Guangzhou manager Fabio Cannavaro.

Nainggolan only just signed a four-year extension on his contract last summer but has been convinced by the big money offer from China.

The Belgian has scored three goals and made three assists and would be a big loss for Roma as they fight to reach a Champions League place in the top of the Serie A.

Nainggolan will replace Paulinho who left Guangzhou last summer for around ÂŁ40m to Barcelona.

There are talks Nainggolan could join Guangzhou on loan for the rest of the season and could earn £10m a year with the deal becoming permanent next summer.

The Belgium international has faced tough times lately after being dropped from the national team by Roberto Martinez and was also dropped by Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco for being caught on video drinking and smoking on New Years Eve.

Getting dropped from the national team with seemingly little chance of getting back in could be the reason why he’s interested in a move to China.
