Roma are pulling closer to signing Liverpool defender Glen Johnson with the Englishman’s contract due to expire at the end of the season and his current club unwilling to offer the player a new deal.
It is reported that Roma are impressed with Johnson’s versability on the pitch, and have been disappointed with Ashley Cole’s performances for the side.
Liverpool are reluctant to offer Johnson a new contract and are understood to be prepared to part ways with the 30-year-old after a five-year spell at Merseyside.
Johnson has been tipped to move to a foreign club in the upcoming transfer window, even if Roma isn’t his destination.
