Reports claim that AS Roma are keen on signing Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi. The Frenchman has been strongly linked to Arsenal for quite some time but it seems that the Italian club are also looking for his signature.

Arsenal have already signed a few players like Stephan Lichsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Bernd Leno amongst others. Present Arsenal coach Unai Emery was N’Zonzi’s coach at Sevilla and is keen to reunite with the Frenchman.

However, Roma also has a connection with Sevilla. Roma’s sporting director Monchi was Sevilla’s director of football from 2000-2017. Monchi was the one who brought N’Zonzi to Sevilla from Stoke City. N’Zonzi has been among Arsenal’s top priorities for a while now with former Arsenal players urging Emery to sign the midfielder.

Sevilla’s director of football Joaquin Caparros has made it clear that Sevilla won’t accept any less than £31 million. He said, “Steven has a two-year contract with Sevilla, we were often in touch during the World Cup. We have not yet received offers for him but the speech is still the same: there is a clause of €35m and it [Sevilla’s valuation] will not fall from that amount.”
