Roma join the race for Cech

The Czech Republic international has been out of favour this season following the arrival of Thibaut Courtois, who has spent the last three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid.

Cech is likely to leave the Blues in order to gain first team football and a move to the Italian capital could be on the horizon as Morgan De Sanctis’ contract with Roma expires at the end of the season.

However they are likely to face competition from other European clubs as they attempt to sign the long serving Chelsea shot-stopper such as Arsenal, PSG and Monaco.

Former Gunners keeper David Seaman believes Arsenal do not need to be in the race to sign Cech as Szczesny is not to blame for their defensive woes.

He told talkSPORT“Wojciech is coming off his best season last season with Arsenal and I don’t think that anybody warrants taking his place because he is not making mistakes.

“Arsenal are conceding goals, but it is not through goalkeeping errors that they are conceding.”
