Serie A side announce permanent deals

AS Roma have revealed they’ve made the loan-deals of Mohamed Salah and Edin Dzeko permanent ones.

The Italian outfit secured the duo on season-long loans from Chelsea and Manchester City respectively over the summer, but they’ve released a statement confirming the deals have been made permanent.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the players have met ‘contractual obligations’ that meant Roma were able to make the switches permanent despite the transfer window not officially being open.

Club Statement

“Amongst the most important agreements of the 2014/15 summer transfer window is the signing of Dzeko from Manchester City, Salah from Chelsea and (Iago) Falque from Genoa,” a statement read on Roma’s official website.

“These players were initially acquired on temporary deals, but those agreements have now become permanent after certain contractual obligations were met.”

Lack of Time in England

Salah left Stamford Bridge after failing to break into Jose Mourinho‘s first-team. He spent half of last season on loan with Fiorentina before joining Roma this summer.

As for Dzeko, he knew competition for places at the Etihad Stadium meant his game-time would be limited. Sergio Aguero and Wilfried Bony are the two preferred strikers at the club.
