Chelsea owner to meet with Antonio Conte this week

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set for a vital week for the club as he continues to hold talks with Antonio Conte.

The Blues are widely tipped to appoint the Italian within the month, with talks scheduled to continue this week, and Abramovich is ready to make him manager.

Chelsea have had Guus Hiddink as interim-manager since December, following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho, and Abramovich is now ready to name his next permanent boss.

Conte has held two sets of negotiations with Chelsea already, but as of yet, they haven’t agreed to a contract, with Conte wanting a higher salary and also wanting a new sporting director.

Talks Continue

However, Abramovich and Conte will continue negotiations this week and will hold further talks with him in the next few days.

According to reports, Conte’s agent, who is also his brother, is set to meet Abramovich in Monaco in order to wrap up a three-year deal.

Conte is expected to leave his post as Italy head-coach after the European Championships.
