Romelu Lukaku isn’t fond of Chelsea bringing Diego Costa in

Romelu Lukaku was better than any of Chelsea’s strikers this season, but with the imminent signing of Diego Costa, the Belgian won’t be the number one striker at Chelsea next season. That doesn’t seem to sit well with the player, who had the following to say ahead of the World Cup:

“You know Chelsea: every year they buy a new top striker. I remember me coming into the dressing room last year and seeing Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba and going: ‘Whoah! What’s happening here?’ But no problem. Many clubs are interested in me.”

“At this stage I have to look to myself. I have to play a good World Cup. That’s very interesting for all the players looking for a transfer, and I must be one of them. Chelsea know my point of view.”
Unfortunately, Lukaku doesn’t seem to be learning how to avoid controversy, as he’s blunt and simply speaks whatever is on his mind. The player will be down to just two years remaining on his Chelsea deal at the end of the month, so if he’s truly as unhappy as he’s letting on, the Blues could well look to move him on this summer.

Chelsea haven’t been a club to stand in the way of unhappy players leaving in the past, so unfortunately, The Blues could be seeing the player heading toward the exit. If that’s the case, Mourinho will be looking to add another option in addition to Costa. Ideally though, Chelsea could launch Fernando Torres and Demba Ba into space,or even Costa and Lukaku next season
