Aston Villa defender, Ron Vlaar, is ready to snub Premier League interest in order to join Serie A side, Napoli.
With the Dutchman entering the final six months of his contract, he is free to hold contract talks with Rafael Benite’z side due to the Bosman Ruling, and he could even sign a pre-agreement meaning he would join the Italians in the Summer once his deal in England ends.
After an impressive World Cup in Brazil, interest in Vlaar has been high since the Summer, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool all interested in the centre-half, but it appears the Premier League trio will all miss out.
Due to them being in the same country as Villa, they cannot offer Vlaar a contract, leaving Napoli in pole position.
According to reports, Napoli could offer Villa £2million in order to bring in Vlaar now, or they could wait until the Summer before completing the transfer for free.
