Ronaldinho sees tough challenge for Salah in Golden Boot race

Former Brazilian football star Ronaldinho believes that Mohamed Salah will have a tough battle to win the Golden Boot this season with the presence of strikers like Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane. Salah won the Golden Boot last season with 32 goals in 36 matches. The Egyptian also scored Liverpool’s first goal of the Premier League in an eventual 4-0 win over West Ham.

Ronaldinho said that Salah is a top contender to win the Golden Boot this season. However, he has a daunting task ahead of him. The former Barcelona player said, “Mohamed Salah is brilliant and has the opportunity to become the top scorer of the Premier League for a second consecutive season. He will have a hard time competing for the Golden Boot due to the presence of outstanding players such as Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane.”

Harry Kane has won the Golden Boot twice in 2015-16 and 2016-17. Last season, he was the second-highest goalscorer in the Premier League with 30 goals, just two behind Salah. Aguero won the Golden Boot in the 2014-15 season with 26 goals. He has been among the top 5 goalscorers in five of the seven Premier League seasons he has played so far.

Ronaldinho was also asked if he wanted to see the Liverpool man in La Liga with Real Madrid or Barcelona. He replied, “Salah has the ability to play in any club and any league. The Spanish league will be very suitable for a great player like Mohamed Salah, and for him, it will be like a paradise.”

Liverpool play their next Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday.
