Real Madrid have told Manchester United what they need to do to prise Christiano Ronaldo away from the Spanish giants.
With the news that Ronaldo’s agent wants the deal to go ahead, United have made Ronaldo their number one priority ahead of the January transfer window.
£140million. That’s what’s needed. A transfer fee of £60million, plus wages of around £80million over the course of the contract.
This equates to approximately £400k a week for the enigmatic Portuguese star, which is astonishingly a rather significant pay cut! Ronaldo currently earns approximately £694k a week before tax (although Real do pay his 52% tax leaving him £315k a week.)
Real appear ready to cash in on a move that will also alert Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and many other of the European elite clubs.
29-year-old Ronaldo is not saying much about a potential move, but the sight of him once again gracing the Old Trafford turf has the red side of Manchester licking their lips.
With Real recently admitting the club is £400million in debt, the sale of Ronaldo would make financial sense as he enters into his thirties.
Last Friday, under pressure United manager, Louis van Gaal admitted he would be interested in buying Ronaldo.
Premier league defenders – look out. The double Fifa World Player of the Year may be soon coming to a town near you.
