If all goes well Ronaldo could be the new owner of Spanish club Real Valladolid. The former Brazilian striker is expected to complete the takeover of the club in a ÂŁ27m deal very soon.

Valladolid was one of the newly promoted teams in the La Liga and they recently hogged the limelight for the poor condition of their pitch in a 1-0 defeat against Barcelona.

If the deal goes through the former Barcelona and Real Madrid forward will be the majority share holder of the club and will also hold the post of president. Current president Carlos Suarez will continue as a board member.

Ronaldo had earlier invested in Fort Lauderdale Strikers which is a professional soccer team based in Florida but the move didn’t reap many dividends as the team got dissolved in 2016.

Ronaldo earlier made his intentions clear about buying a club. “I would like to buy a team in the second division of Spain or England. I want to do something innovative.”

Valladolid have made an erratic start to their campaign as they share points with Girona in their opening fixture but had to digest a narrow defeat at the hand of Barcelona in the second match.
