The Spanish giants have been linked with a mega summer move for the Blues star

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly told Real Madrid that if they sign Eden Hazard, then he will leave the club.

The Spanish side have been linked with a huge move for the Belgium international in the summer, with Zinedine Zidane eager to to bring in a top player in a bid to help improve the side further.

Hazard has been back to his best this year at Chelsea under Antonio Conte, with the Blues flying high at the top of the Premier League table. His showings this year have led to reports claiming he will be the player Madrid push to sign the most when the transfer window opens in summer.

It would be a huge loss for Conte’s side but they may be resigned to losing him, with Madrid having more than enough cash to pay whatever fee the Blues want and also whatever wages the winger himself wants.

Stealing the spotlight from Ronaldo

But, one of Madrid’s star players would reportedly be unhappy with the signing of Hazard.

That player is Cristiano Ronaldo, who has, according to Diario Gol, told Florentino Perez that if Hazard does indeed join the club in the summer, then he will leave.

That is because Ronaldo reportedly doesn’t want the club to sign a player who could end up taking the spotlight from him and potentially even taking his starting place at Madrid.

The player does want the club to make a big-name signing at the end of the current campaign but he seemingly doesn’t want it to be anyone who could take the status of ‘star player’ away from him.

This could deter Madrid from making a move for Hazard then, if it means that Ronaldo would leave. Interest though in the Belgium is believed to be high and Madrid could sacrifice Ronaldo if it means bringing in another big talent.
