Roy Hodgson said he was happy with the performance of his players after they pulled off an important win against Leicester City.

Crystal Palace won the contest by 1-0 courtesy of a spectacular goal by Luka Milivojevic.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson said in the post-match interview that he was happy with his side’s performance after they pulled off an important win against Leicester City in the 17th match of the season. The Eagles have endured a tough time in the Premier League this season and this victory over the Foxes will surely give them some breathing space.

Captain Luka Milivojevic’s wonder strike clinched the victory for the south London side and Hodgson said that he was happy about the clean sheet as well. He said, “We have had quite a few of those, and our defensive record for a team in our position in the table is actually quite good. We have had those couple of defeats where we have conceded three in each, and if it weren’t for those, it would be exceptionally good.”

Speaking about the luck being on their side in the match against Leicester, the Palace manager said, “I’ve been to quite a lot of press conferences and you guys have told me that we were unlucky, that our football was good and with a bit more luck we would have gotten a better result. Today, for the first time I can give credence to that adage that good and back luck even themselves out because we were lucky not to concede the equaliser.”
