Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has revealed he would love to have Ruben Loftus-Cheek back at Crystal Palace. The English midfielder had a fruitful season long loan spell at the Selhurst Park last term.
The arrival of Maurizio Sarri has very little to do with Loftus-Cheek’s playing time as the Italian manager seems to have plenty of options to chose from. The midfield department is a bit of congested at this moment as the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Ross Barkley, N’Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater are all vying for a place in the middle of the park.
The youngster is yet to be given a chance to prove his worth although Sarri hasn’t ruled out the player completely. However, Hodgson has indicated should a chance come up he would like to link up with the midfielder again.
“I’ve answered this question before (on potentially re-signing Loftus-Cheek). I can’t answer the question ‘is that something you’re looking at’ because how can I look at it? He is a Chelsea player.
“I have no idea if he is going to be available in January, so what can I look at?
If the question was ‘should Ruben Loftus-Cheek be made available in January, would Crystal Palace be interested in loaning him again?’ then the answer is ‘yes’.”
