Ryan Giggs predicts tight season

Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs believes the changes in management at the top makes the title race that more interesting and unpredictable this season.

United, Manchester City and Chelsea have all changed their managers from last season after Sir Alex Ferguson retired, Roberto Mancini got the sack and Rafael Benitez left Stamford Bridge for Italian side Napoli.

Now in the hot-seats are former-Everton boss David Moyes, ex-Malaga manager Manuel Pelligrini and making his long-awaited return to the Premier League, Jose Mourinho.

The changes in management make the Premier League title race so hard to predict and talking to the club’s official website, Giggs thinks the same.

“From our perspective Sir Alex was here for so long and it’s a big change for the club. But there have also been changes at Chelsea and Manchester City and no-one really knows what will happen.

“There are some really good teams and some really good managers who are going to be battling it out and it’s probably going to be closer than ever. All the top teams have great quality.

“City will want to win the league back, Chelsea have got the experience of Jose Mourinho and, of course, we’re the champions. Then you’ve got the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool all fighting as well. So it promises to be a really exciting season.”
