Tony Pulis confirms striker is in contention to play

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has confirmed Saido Berahino is up for selection for tomorrow’s game against Southampton following his controversy on Transfer Deadline Day.

The striker wanted to quit The Hawthorns and then stated he would never play for the club again after they blocked his move to Tottenham Hotspur, who made FIVE formal bids for him throughout the summer.

However, Pulis has confirmed that the England star is up for selection and will be in contention to play against Ronald Koeman‘s men.

Despite confirming he is up for selection, Pulis has called Berahino immature and urged him to show more respect to the club that pays his wages.

Pulis Discusses Berahino

“Saido is immature at times but I’m more concerned with getting him back playing,” Pulis told BBC WM.

“The fact that he wants to play for a top team, I wish most of the players here would have those expectations and ambitions.

“The problem Saido has is in the way he’s gone around it. He’s not shown the respect to people around this club that he should have.

“It’s unfortunate that Saido’s been exploited by a system I’ve said I don’t like and I think it should be changed.”
