The defender was told he has no future at Liverpool by boss Jurgen Klopp

Former Liverpool man Mario Balotelli has encouraged Mamadou Sakho to leave the club in January.

The striker had a torrid time at Anfield and after stints back in Italy, he now plies his trade for Nice in France, where he has begun to find the net on a regular basis again.

Now, he’s encouraged Mamadou Sakho to join him at the club in France when the winter transfer window opens its doors.

No move materialised in summer

The Frenchman has not played for Liverpool since this new season begun and that is due to Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp telling the defender that he has no future at the club.

Despite being up for sale over the summer, no move ended up happening for the 26-year old and he remains confined to the sidelines at Anfield by Klopp.

It is expected that when January comes around, he will be sold off – the question is, who will sign him?

France could be the destination, not only because Mario Balotelli is encouraging a move to Ligue 1 but because there was interest from several teams in France over the summer and it is of course, the country that Sakho is from.
