Club president admits he’s interested in Chelsea defender
Sampdoria’s president has admitted that he wants to sign Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma this Summer.
Massimo Ferrero has already made a signing from Dutch side Ajax and he is keen to continuing bolstering his squad ahead of next season, and Zouma is high on his list.
Zouma’s Future at Chelsea
The young defender is seen as a long-term replacement for veteran John Terry, so The Blues will be reluctant to sell the 20-year-old, but there is a chance that a loan-deal could be arranged.
Zouma, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from St Etienne back in 2013, has failed to break into the Chelsea first-team as of yet, but with age on his side, he’s predicted big things in the future.
Jose Mourinho coughed up £12million to sign the Frenchman and it’s doubtful that he will sell the starlet, but Ferrero has admitted that he wants to try and lure him to Italy.
Sampdoria’s Interest Confirmed
“I already signed [Niklas] Moisander from Ajax and I am trying to get Zouma, because they are very physical players,” said Ferrero.
Possible Loan Deal?
Zouma is expected to play second-fiddle to Terry and Gary Cahill yet again next season, so a loan deal away in Serie A could be a possibility, but a permanent deal doesn’t look likely for Sampdoria.
The defender still has three-and-a-half-years left on his current deal in West London.
