The Arsenal legend claims that the Chile international left training because of a bad tackle

Robert Pires has rubbished reports that Arsene Wenger and Alexis Sanchez had a training ground bust-up ahead of the Liverpool game.

Reports had claimed that Sanchez was dropped for the Gunners game against Liverpool because he was involved in a bust-up with boss Arsene Wenger on the training ground in the days before the match.

Sat on the sidelines

It meant that the forward had to sit on the sidelines as he watched his side fall to a defeat against the Reds, leaving Arsenal now sat in fifth place.

However, Robert Pires has spoken out about the reports and claims that they are not true and that, in fact, there was no bust-up and just a bad tackle instead.

The Gunners legend said to beIn: “There was a bad tackle on AS, a clash, he left the pitch.”

So, according to the Frenchman, things were not heated between Wenger and Sanchez and that instead it was down to a bad tackle.

The Chile international has been linked with a move away from the Emirates for most of the campaign, with reports claiming he could leave in the summer.

Reports of this bust-up only added fuel to that fire but with Pires rubbishing these claims and with boss and player shown shaking hands in training this week, it appears things are not quite as heated between the two as you would believe.
