Arsenal sensation Alexis Sanchez is ready to use his friendship with former team-mate Dani Alves to block Manchester United’s attempts to capture the right-back.
Alves looks all but set to leave the Nou Camp in the summer, with the Gunners ready to bolster their defence and replace Debuchy with the veteran Brazilian international.
The 31 year-old defender is still an integral part of Barcelona, but it appears that the player will not be offered a new contract to keep him at the club.
With Manchester United currently front-runners in the race to sign Alves, January signing Victor Valdes could be used to influence the defender’s decision.
But, however it is understood that Sanchez is currently attempting to hijack United’s attempts, with Arsenal looking to open talks with Alves in the next couple of weeks.
The Brazilian’s wages could prove to be a stumbling block in bringing him to the Premier League, with the defender supposedly demanding £100,000 a week.
