Former Manchester City ace Jadon Sancho has revealed the real reason behind his early departure from his former club. The talented winger left the reigning Premier League champions in the summer of 2017 at the age of 17 to join Borussia Dortmund and has established himself as a key figure in the lineup of the German giants in the last two seasons.
Speaking about the real reason behind his departure from Manchester City, the player insisted that it was the lack of game time which influenced his decision. Speaking about the splendid season he has had with the Bundesliga league, he said, “It’s been the best year of my life. If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be talking to you now, I’d have thought you were crazy.”
Speaking about why he chose to join the Bundesliga outfit, Sancho said, “Why Dortmund? It speaks for itself: youngsters get opportunities. You’ve got to thank Dortmund, because it’s unheard of for a team that gets 80,000 fans at every home game to put so much faith in youngsters. It was crazy how many clubs wanted me – it shows how well you’re doing, but I always felt Dortmund was right for me.”
