Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo has backed his fellow compatriot Kurt Zouma to be a success at Chelsea, following the defender’s move to Stamford Bridge last January.

Zouma has yet to appear in a competitive game for Chelsea since joining, having spent the second half of last season on loan to former club St Etienne, and facing competition from Gary Cahill, John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic at Stamforf Bridge this season.

However, Arsenal man Sanogo believes Zouma will soon be a regular under Jose Mourinho.

”Kurt, he’s a beautiful player. It will happen for him.”

“I don’t think he’ll spend very long on the bench.”

However, Sanogo was also quick to warn his team-mate of the physicality that Premier League players possess:

He told Progres: “I told him he needs toget in shape because the Premier League is demanding from a physical point of view.”

“There are some monsters [in the league].”

At just 19, Zouma has time on his side to meet the physical demands needed to play in England’s top divison, and he boasts an already sizeable frame for someone of his age.
