Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has moved swiftly to dismiss any transfer rumours linking Gunners midfielder Santi Cazorla with a summer move to Atletico Madrid.
Cazorla, aged 30, has played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s current campaign to date, impressing for the North-Londoners, having netted six times this season.
And such form has linked the Spaniard with a return to his homeland, title-holders Atletico Madrid being the latest La Liga side to show an interest.
But Wenger has quashed any transfer talk relating to his prized asset.
“He [Cazorla] extended his contract last year, and has two years to go on his deal,” Wenger said.
“You know our policy at the club. There’s nothing to worry about.
“The suggestion is only a suggestion.
“We have never been approached by anybody about him.”
