Midfielder rubbishes La Liga return reports

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has dismissed speculation linking him with a move back to Spain this summer.

The Spanish maestro has been strongly linked with a return to La Liga, with Atletico Madrid keen on signing him, but he has once again rubbished the reports and stated his desire to remain in England with Arsenal.

Cazorla has two years left on his contract in North London and is hoping to see out his deal before then deciding on his future.

The 30-year-old has won two FA Cup‘s since joining The Gunners, with the latest coming this season thanks to a 4-0 win over Aston Villa at Wembley.

When questioned about his future and the La Liga reports, Cazorla insisted they were false and reiterated his desire to stay put with his current club.

Cazorla Eyes Arsenal Stay

‘Rumours about Atletico Madrid are false,’ said the 30-year-old.

‘Currently, I just focus on Arsenal. I have two more years on my contract here and I hope to complete them.

‘I’m very happy in Arsenal and in the Premier League.

‘I feel loved and valued by the team and supporters.’

Cazorla has been at Arsenal since 2012, after he moved from Spanish side Malaga in a deal worth around £15million.

Standout Season

The Spaniard arguably had his best campaign yet in the Premier League during the 2014/2015 campaign, becoming a crucial part of Arsenal’s midfield after adapting to a new, deeper role alongside Francis Coquelin.

Cazorla came third in the Arsenal Player of the Season awards, only behind Coquelin and Alexis Sanchez.
