Maurizio Sarri condemns the fans who were involved in anti-semitic chanting

If reports are to be believed, a small section of the travelling Chelsea fans at Vicarage Road was heard singing a racist song and Maurizio Sarri has condemned such fans as ‘stupid people’ who are tarnishing the reputation of the club.

This is not the first time that such an incident involving the Chelsea fans has come to light, with reports claiming that a section of the travelling Blues fans had engaged themselves in anti-Semitic chanting during their club’s Europa League tie at Vidi.

The Metropolitan Police launched investigations into the allegations claiming that Raheem Sterling had been racially abused during a Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had slammed such actions from their fan base and manager Maurizio Sarri once again reiterated that such actions are not indicative of the club’s broader fan base.

“I didn’t hear anything. But I think first of all I want to speak with my club. Second, I don’t want to generalise,” the Italian told reporters.

“For the 99 per cent of cases, our fans are very good, are wonderful. Then in every community, I think there are some stupid [people].

“Altogether we have to fight against the stupid people, but not against the Chelsea fans.”
