According to reports, Schalke will decide in July whether to make a move for Chelsea defender Baba Rahman.
The Ghanaian spent last season on loan in Germany and delivered some top performances for the senior team.
However, the 22-year-old did miss the second part of the season after suffering a knee injury at the African Cup of Nations.
It is said the left-back will recover just in time for the end of the pre-season and Schalke’s general manager Christian Heidel believes the German club will wait to decide whether or not they should test Chelsea’s resolve to keep Rahman with a concrete bid.
“Our team doctor met with Baba in London,” Heidel told Bild.
“His knee injury is much more complex and lengthy than anticipated.
“We will wait until July and then decide with Baba and his agent whether it makes sense to open negotiations with Chelsea.”
