Man United legend Paul Scholes has claimed that Angel Di Maria isn’t happy with life at Old Trafford. The Argentina international arrived in England for a British record £59m in the summer.
However, this week he has been linked with a return to his former club in Real Madrid and ex-United man Scholes has added fuel to the fire by claiming the winger isn’t happy with his current situation. In his column for the Evening Standard he wrote:
“Preparing for the Liverpool game in Madrid this week, I watched re-runs of last season and Angel Di Maria was smiling broadly as he celebrated goal after goal with Cristiano Ronaldo. He doesn’t seem to be in the same happy mood at United. It feels downbeat among the team.”
In addition, Scholes went on to add that a contributing factor could be the difficult atmosphere that is currently in the Red Devils dressing room, which has been caused by a string of bad results. However, Louis Van Gaal would be seriously reluctant to let Di Maria leave unless the player himself came forward and asked to leave.
The club currently sit in 10th place with 13 points from 10 games.
