Schurrle deal could fall through

Wolfsburg’s sporting director Klaus Allofs has warned that the deal to sign Andre Schurrle could still fall through at this late stage.

24-year old Schurrle is reportedly in Germany after agreeing his personal terms with Wolfsburg which could see Chelsea make a big profit.

The German transfer window closes at 5pm GMT but Schurrle has been named on the German Football Association’s incoming transfer list which will enable Wolfsburg to have a little more time to complete the deal.

He’s (Schurrle) on the (Bundesliga) incoming transfer list and that gives us a bit more time,’ Allofs told reporters at a press conference on Monday.

‘We want Schurrle, but we have clear limits and we’ll only go so far. We have done all we can and there are so many reasons to bring him here, but we have always set a financial limit.

‘It’s a four-year contract, this amount of money (£86,000-a-week) is normal these days.’

He was then asked if the deal could still fall through to which he replied: ‘Sure, otherwise we would have announced it here.’

Schurrle’s move to Wolfsburg will make way for Chelsea’s deal to sign Cuadrado, which is also the case with Mohammed Salah’s move to Fiorentina.
