Sunderland have signed Argentina international striker Ignacio Scocco on a two and a half year contract for an undisclosed fee, The striker joins from braizlian side Internacional to link up with compatriots Oscar Ustari and Santiago Vergini who joined Gus Poyets revolution at the Stadium Of Light.  With the addition of Scocco, who scored a brace on his one and only appearance to date for his national team, and with Poyet recalling striker Conor Wickham from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday Gus Poyet has plenty of options when it comes to forwards for the final half of the season.

Gus Poyet who also recently claimed the signature of defender Marcos Alonso on loan from Fiorentina will be hoping his new signings settle in as soon as possible and go on to help the team secure premiership status for next season, Sunderlands victory over Stoke last night saw Gus Poyets men climb out of the bottom three for the first time since August, and who could forget the chance they got to win some silverware when they take on Manchester City at Wembly for the League cup.
