Burnley are set to face Barnsley for their FA Cup tie on Saturday and Sean Dyche has three fit keepers to choose from.

Nick Pope has returned to the side after recovering from his shoulder injury that he picked up last summer. Joe Hart entered the team ahead of the 2018/19 season and was handed the immediate the number one spot ahead of Tom Heaton.

However, Dyche has decided to give Heaton a chance in between the posts, allowing him to start against West Ham United and Huddersfield Town. When asked about the decision to drop Hart, the Clarets boss explained, “He’s a top-class pro and has a lot of respect for Tom and vice versa, they’ve known each other a long time. He’s not happy, of course, but not happy as an individual. He absolutely wants the team to do well, he’s bought into what we do.”

“He didn’t come in under any illusions, and I told him it would be a tough season. I commend him for that. A lot of the things that have happened this season have not been down to Joe.”

“I tried a few different things and eventually had to change the goalkeeper. That’s just the way it goes, but there’s been a lot of things that haven’t been right in front of him at times, and he’s helped us put points on the board.”
