Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has committed his long term future to the club as he has put pen to paper on a new five year contract which will keep him at the club till 2023.
The Spanish midfielder has been an integral part of the first team set up and the new deal also includes a release clause in the region of £450m making him virtually untouchable.
The Midfielder’s old contract was due to run till 2021 and club did have the option to extend it further by two years depending on his game time but this new contract has been signed in a bid to reward him with a deserving payrise.
The 30 year old Spaniard came through the famous La Masia academy and could follow the footsteps of Carlos Puyol who devoted his life to the Spanish giants. His influence and vision from the middle of the pitch have immensely helped the Catalans in dictating the motion of the game.
There had been speculations regarding his possible reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City but with this new contract, all rumours have been diminished it seems.
