Sergio Busquets to be offered new Barca deal

Barcelona are preparing to offer Sergio Busquets a new and improved contract at the Nou Camp to ward off interest from Chelsea and Man United. The Premier League duo have reportedly both been considering large bids of around ÂŁ35m for the midfielder.

However, sources from Spain claim the Catalan giants are reluctant to let the Spaniard leave and that they are willing to offer him a significant pay rise from his current ÂŁ65,000 a week salary to get him to stay in La Liga.

He only signed a new deal back in 2013 but with the growing interest in some of their players including Busquets – and because of the club’s transfer embargo – one of the club’s main aims this month is to keep hold of their star players.

He has played in all but one La Liga game for Barca so far, showing that he still has a key role to play at the Nou Camp and it means they will do whatever they can to keep hold of the 26-year old.
