Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has said that Real Madrid players do not know about the future of Julen Lopetegui. Real Madrid suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Barcelona yesterday in the season’s first El Clasico. They are know 9th in the La Liga table.

The defeat puts Julen Lopetegui’s future as Real Madrid manager in serious jeopardy. Earlier there were reports claiming that Real Madrid would sack Lopetegui if the team lost to Barcelona and Antonio Conte would replace him.

Sergio Ramos however, has said that his players have no clue about Lopetegui’s future. Ramos said, “We have to wait, they have not told us anything. These are decisions not made by us so we have to keep a cool head, look at ourselves and try to change things to get better results. We will see what happens in the coming hours and tomorrow but the players are always with the coach to the death.”

Real Madrid have now gone 5 La Liga matches without a win. However, Ramos thinks that they still have a shot at winning the title. He said, “There are people that would believe, others that wouldn’t.

I have won La Ligas from 10 points behind. The key to success is to work. Madrid never gives up when it can turn the situation around.”

Real Madrid’s next match is a Copa del Ray encounter against third-tier club UD Melilla on Wednesday.
