According to reports from the Mirror, Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli are in a battle to sign Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Trippier.
Trippier came to prominence after his terrific performances at the World Cup in Russia where he scored a brilliant free-kick in the semi-final against Croatia which England eventually lost.
Last season, he scored a goal and provided 3 assists as Spurs reached the C hampions League Final. Trippier’s performances has attracted attention from two of Italy’s biggest clubs, Juventus and Napoli.
Maurizio Sarri feels that Trippier could be a fine replacement for Joao Cancelo who could most likely jump ship to Manchester City.
Sarri’s former club Napoli is also interested in roping in Trippier and are reportedly in talks with Spurs about a possible transfer for the full-back.
Spurs are open to selling Trippier for £25 million and have the likes of Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters to replace him.
Provided Trippier moves to Juventus , he could find sufficient playing time under Maurizio Sarri provided Joao Cancelo leaves the club. Napoli have two right-backs in Kelvin Malcuit and Elseid Hysaj; thus, Trippier won’t have it easy to find a place in Napoli’s playing XI.
