According to reports, AC Milan are on the verge of signing Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa. The Polish striker will undergo a medical at Milan today. Piatek joined Genoa in the summer from Polish club Cracovia Krakow. He has since done brilliantly for Genoa, scoring 19 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions so far. He has scored 13 goals in the Serie A so far which is the second most number of goals scored in the competition.
His addition will be highly useful for AC Milan who are currently 4th in the League table but are facing stiff competition from Roma, Lazio and Atalanta to secure fourth place and a place in next season’s Champions League.
Piatek’s transfer to AC Milan will help Chelsea’s quest to sign Gonzalo Higuain. AC Milan were eager to sign Piatek as a replacement for Higuain. Higuainn has said that he wants to leave AC Milan and Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso said he respects the Argentine’s decision.
Several reports state that it’s only a matter of time before Higuain becomes a Blue.
