Manchester United midfielder Anderson believes lots of players want to quit the club, after sealing his loan switch to Fiorentina.

The 25-year-old moved to the Serie A side during the transfer window and isn’t expected to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

That would end his seven-year spell with the club and Anderson insists he is not the only one who wants to leave United.

He said: “I’m sure that lots of players want out, especially people like myself and Nani who have been in Manchester or seven or eight years.

“Manchester United is a huge club that does everything for their players but sometimes a footballer wants to leave just to experience a new way to play football and to learn something as well.”

The Brazilian failed to live up to high expectations at Old Trafford following his ÂŁ24m move from FC Porto in 2007.

Many United fans criticised his fitness but he is hoping to make a fresh start in Florence and earn a permanent deal at the end of the campaign.

Anderson made his first start for the club in the defeat to Cagliari on Saturday but was substituted shortly after half-time.

His comments regarding team-mate Nani come after the Portuguese was the subject of a reported approach from Inter Milan late on in the transfer window.

The winger looks set to stay with the club until the end of the season at least but could be part of a clearout in the summer.
