The defender has attracted interest from many top European clubs

Clement Lenglet joined Sevilla from Nancy for €5 million in the January Transfer Window of 2017. He was brought in to replace compatriot Timothée Kolodziejczak, who had joined Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The defender has been a regular for his club this season and established himself as one of the best defenders in La Liga with constant solid performances. He has made 49 appearances for the club in all competitions this campaign.

The in-demand 22 year old has seen his stock rise considerably during the 2017-18 campaign, with leading sides from across Europe having placed him on their respective summer transfer radars.

Barcelona have shown strong interest in him and according to reports the La Liga giants prepared to trigger a €30 million release clause back in April but there is no offer yet. The club wants him to replace to replace Samuel Umtiti, if the France International leaves this summer.

Manchester United were very impressed with Lenglet’s displays against them in the Champions League round of 16 and Jose Mourinho has been keeping tabs on him ahead of the transfer window.

Real Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool are also interested in the Frenchman.

Sevilla are very keen to hold on to their star and have already opened discussions to tie him down to a new contract. They are aware that a prized asset will not put financial motivation ahead of sporting ambition, with his career to date having already shown that development is his main concern.

Lenglet is aware of the intense speculation surrounding his future and has claimed that he will make a decision about his future at the end of the season according to Goal. He is currently focusing on the derby with Real Betis on Saturday and in no rush to make a decision.
