Costa urged his club not to price him out of a move away and also cited José Mourinho’s presence in West London as a great pull.
The Brazilian said: “I put my situation to them and they said they would try to help me. Now, we’ll see if it comes to an agreement.
“To play at Chelsea is a dream for any player… but really, what catches my eye is the coach.”
Costa is seen as an alternative to top target Juan Cuadrado but a move for either player would, according to Mourinho, have to involve the sale of another player; Andre Schurrle or Mohamed Salah being the most likely candidates.
The Chelsea boss is eager to strengthen this month to further enhance is hopes of a treble; Chelsea face Liverpool tonight in hopes of making it to the League Cup Final which would be the first of the potential three.
