Overachievers of the Season
The nominees for the teams that shocked us are: Southampton, Stoke City, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Leicester City
All of these teams have had marvelous seasons and all standout to us as the overachievers of the season. However, there can only be one winner, so who wins for us?
Ronald Koeman’s Southampton! The Saints were tipped for relegation after selling all their star players, but they ended the season seventh and could be in the Europa League next year if Arsenal win the FA Cup.
12 of our writers voted for Southampton as the overachievers, whilst two voted for Palace and Stoke.
Garry Monk’s Swansea got one vote, whilst no-one choice Leicester.
