Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet believes he is becoming a better player at Anfield despite feeling the pressure put onto his shoulders.

The Belgium was labelled as one of the best ‘keepers in the Premier League last season when he was at Sunderland, and because of that, he completed his big-time move to Liverpool in the Summer, and he has admitted that there is more pressure on him now due to playing for a bigger club.

Mignolet, who started his Liverpool career in fine fashion, keeping a clean-sheet and also saving a penalty on his debut, has made a few costly errors in recent weeks in high-profile matches, but he insists that he is not listening to any critics and is entirely focused on doing his job.

“I had a difficult month but you are going to get them as a football player.

“You are never going to get everything go your way and you have to accept that.

“I didn’t change anything. I just tried to stay focused and do the things I’m asked to do. As a keeper I just try to help the team out whenever I can.

“It’s nice to work with Luis and Daniel day in, day out as it makes you better as a keeper.

“We all know what they can do and it’s unbelievable. I see that quality every day. When you are one-against-one with strikers of that quality, you learn a lot of things.”
