SIX to miss Chelsea’s final game

Eden Hazard, Kurt Zouma, Petr Cech, Ramires and Oscar all doubts

Chelsea will be without six players for their Premier League finale against Sunderland on Sunday with five out injured and Cesc Fabregas suspended.

The Spaniard saw a straight red during Chelsea‘s 3-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion on Monday night for kicking the ball at Chris Brunt when the game was dead. His potential three-match suspension was then reduced to just one-game, meaning he will only miss the season finale and not the opening games of next season.

As well as Fabregas being out, Chelsea have injury doubts over five players, including PFA Player of the Year Eden Hazard.

The Belgium international has had to have emergency surgery on his mouth to have three wisdom teeth removed leaving him in agony and unable to attend award ceremonies.

Mourinho Comments on Hazard

Speaking in today’s press conference, Jose Mourinho said: “I hope he can play. But I would never have allowed him to have the surgery if I thought this would happen. His mouth is in trouble. I don’t know if he can play.

“He had dental surgery, on three teeth. But now there is infection and he’s in a bit of trouble. He didn’t train today.”

As well as Hazard likely to miss out, Chelsea will be without Brazilian duo Ramires and Oscar, who are both injured, as well as centre-back Kurt Zouma and goalkeeper Petr Cech.

The real blow for Chelsea in Cech’s potential groin injury keeping him out as it could be his last game for the club.

The veteran is expected to leave over the Summer after falling out of favour this season due to Thibaut Courtois, and Sunday could be his final appearance for The Blues.

Mourinho has been fielding several youth team players in the past few weeks, and it’s expected that the same faces could play against Sunderland on Sunday.
