Slavisa Jokanovic Hits Out At Match Officials Following Liverpool Defeat

Slavisa Jokanovic hit out at the match officials following Fulham’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool claiming they were disrespected at the Anfield.

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri were enough as the Reds cruised to the top of the table. They could enjoy their stay at the top a bit longer if Manchester United manage to get the better of Manchester City on Sunday.

Salah’s goal has come under scrutiny after replay suggests the ball was moving when Alisson passed the ball to Trent Alexander-Arnold which led to the first goal. Aleksandar Mitrovic’s header was ruled offside and the Liverpool custodian wasted no time in launching a counter.

Mitrovic was adjudged offside but Liverpool defender Andy Robertson might have played him marginally onside which the assistant referee missed. Jokanovic said, “In this country normally you cannot show disrespect to the referee and this is a problem because it’s shown disrespect to my team, myself and Fulham supporters.

“When I check the clips now it’s Robertson (who) hasn’t done a good enough job to squeeze up and my player is onside and scored the goal.

“If the ball is rolling or not rolling after, it’s probably yes and in one moment, a crucial moment, instead of 1-0 up we’re 1-0 down.

“We can talk about this situation for hours, but the damage is done. It’s a completely absurd situation to defend. Yes they catch us on the counter, this guy (Salah) is really fast and finished the action well, but the sensation is we are frustrated, disappointed.

“It’s better we don’t talk so much about my situation.”
